Detroit Wedding Venues: Cobo Hall Detroit

I attended the North American International Auto Show this past month for the first time since Cobo Hall was renovated, and I took some photos to share. Part of the facility was blocked off, but I was able to wander around a little bit. I got into one of the ballrooms and get pictures of the space.

I believe that back wall may be moveable, and even some of the other ‘walls’ appear to have the ability to be removed to open up the space.  Although it looks a little disappointing, I’m sure when setup for a wedding reception, with decor and uplighting, it could be good.

In the Riverview Ballroom.  As you can see – not a lot of windows at first glace, but according to their website, it appears that some walls can be removed to open the space.

The Grand Riverview Ballroom opened in 2013, and includes lighting effects that you cannot see in my photos (because they weren’t in use), but can be seen in the photos below from Cobocenter.com.

More Photos from Mlive.com are HERE.  These show how the walls can open to expose the hallway along the riverside, and the atrium.

No word on their website regarding pricing or availability, but it is a big and beautiful uniquely Detroit venue!
