Last week, the Detroit Free Press listed what they call “Top Michigan Destination Wedding Spots“, that include many northern lower Michigan attractions. Of course, we do not know what their criteria were to choose these locations (or, if the venues paid to be featured) but it does serve as a nice collection of venue ideas if you are looking for an ‘up-north’ wedding. There are also a few west-side of the state locations listed, but that may or may not be a destination wedding for you.

Devon and Jarrit wanted an intimate wedding ceremony with close friends and family near Lake Huron. The couple opted to throw a small gathering on site, then head to Sandals Resort in Grenada for their honeymoon. After the honeymoon, a larger reception was held backyard-style in Marine City, MI for 60 guests.
