Experience: I’ve been making candles for over two years, and have many returning customers.  It’s been very humbling to gain new customers based on “word-of-mouth” recommendations.  I take great pride in the quality and presentation of my product, and try to use only eco-friendly ingredients.

Rachel’s Journey: Not long ago, I made candles for a wedding and garnered several custom orders based off of that one experience.  The bride and groom were some of my first “test” customers when I was just getting started and requested that I make their party favors.  Each time I see someone who attended their wedding, they remark at how much they love their candles and recommend my small business to their friends, which is a wonderful feeling.

KittyFace Products: Rachel makes made-to-order soy wax candles with essential oils.  Her top-requested fragrances are:

  • Northern Forest
  • Rain
  • Lavender
  • Caribbean Teakwood
  • Cinnamon Vanilla
  • Pumpkin Pie

She loves using unique and re-purposed  containers- especially colored/cut glass.  She can also use mason jars and tumblers upon request.

How did you get into doing weddings? I was requested by a couple that was familiar with my business.  It was very nice to be a part of their special day and know that their guests were able to enjoy my product in their homes.  Who doesn’t love a fresh, delicious candle!?

Why should a bride use your service?  Kittyface Candles are poured with lots of TLC and burn very cleanly.  I take great pride in the quality of the ingredients and have many return customers.  Prices are fair and I’m open to various types of fragrance and container requests; whatever the couple wants, I can usually fulfill.

Rachel on current trends: I try not to spend much time focusing on trends so as to keep my product unique.  However, I do think that a lot of popular candle makers focus too much on variety of fragrance and less on the quality of the product and the containers.  I strive to give my customers something they can’t find at their local candle shop, both in quality and uniqueness.
