Golden Globes #Dressporn Mega Post

Kittens, the Golden Globes Red Carpet has provided many beautiful dresses for your inspiration. There were hits and misses but no major mis-steps.  Picture-heavy post is below.

Gina Rodrigues (from Jane the Virgin) wears a Navy Zac Posen gown.

Walking skeleton Giuliana Rancic in Australian designer Alex Perry.

Jamie Alexander in Italian designer Genny. Although this wasn’t my favorite dress of the night, this woman is STUNNING.

Eva Longoria in Georges Hobeika, and it’s just bad.  *Worst Dressed Nominee*

Sophia Bush in Narcisso Rodriquez, and it is just OK.  Maybe ‘Safe’ is the better word.  But I like Sophia, so she gets a pass.

Alicia Vikander in a white Louis Vuitton gown. From afar, it looks a little boring, but when the camera panned in, you could see some beautiful details in the skirt.

Uzo Aduba in a black sequin column dress and some bad hair.

Bryce Dallas Howard in a Jenny Packham dress that she revealed was purchased herself at a department store. She said that she’s rather have multiple options for a size 6, rather than just one.  This dress is really awesome.  She did a great job.

Laverne Cox wore an Elizabeth Kennedy white gown in what was one of the best looks of the night.

Zendaya in a very interesting Marchesa gown.  I like her risk, even though it is Marchesa.  I liked her earrings as well.

Brie Larson wore a custom Calvin Klein and looked very nice, except what appears to be a saggy boob effect.

Olivia Wilde in Micheal Kors, and an unnecessary heavy necklace.

Kirsten Dunst in a gorgeous black Valentino gown.  The back on this gown is the kicker.  *Best Dressed!!*

Jennifer Lopez went a different route this time (Thank god no ‘Naked’ gown!!!) in a Yellow Giambastistta Valli gown.  I have mixed feelings about this look.  While I’m glad that we went for a different look, and I like the necklace, the vibe is also quite matronly.  Someone did very well with her hair and makeup though.

Joanne Froggat in Reen Acra in a pretty hue of powder blue.  She was styled by Brad Goreski tonight.

Love Amy, but I don’t love this Prabal Gurung gown. Meh.

Saoirse Ronan in a pretty white Yves Saint Laurent Gown.

Cookie Lyons Taraji P. Henson giving us Fierce in this white Stella McCartney gown.  *Best Dressed Nominee*

Cate Blanchett is giving us high fashion in a pink Givenchy.

Melissa McCarthy in a gown of her own design.  Good for her!

I hate to approve of Jenna Dwan Tatum (thirsty B!), but this Zuhair Murad gown is good.  Channing’s hair is doing something unsavory though.

Flawless Rachel McAdams in Lanvin.  But my opinion is extremely biased since she is my favorite.  I’m going to ‘best-dressed’ her anyway.  *Best Dressed Nominee*

She killed it at the People’s Choice Awards, and then brings this to the Golden Globes? Kate Hudson naked in Micheal Kors, and I hate it.  Bad hair too. -Worst Dressed Nominee-

Rooney Mara took the risk of washing herself out in this Alexander McQueen, and some other blogs are calling her worst dressed, but I disagree.  She’s typically a risk-taker, and the details on this blush gown are exquisite.

Amy Adams in this Versace is just ok.  I don’t think the cut is flattering.

Calista Flockhart in a cute blue Andrew GN gown.

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore Marc Jacobs, and E! is giving her a worst dressed vote – I disagree again.  I like the colors and the print.

Leslie Mann is also getting a worst dressed vote from E! with this Monique Lhullier gown.  Yes, it could get very mother-of-the-bridey, but really the design is beautiful.  I like this one.

Lady Gaga is channeling Marilyn Monroe in this Versace gown, and she looks nice, but aren’t we used to something riskier from her?  This was a letdown.

My girl Jennifer Lawrence in Dior of course- she’s still under contract with them.  She looks good, and I’m okay with the necklace, it’s just… the hair.  I hate it – more specifically, it’s only the front of the hair that I hate.  As I type this, Jennifer is on E!’s after party show, and just said some gems that I’m sure the media is going to pick up on tomorrow.  Love her long time.

Winner Kate Winslett looking fabulous in Ralph Lauren. It’s a very simple look, but it works.

Another thirsty B… Amber Heard, in a pretty Gucci gown.  I can see some giving her a worst-dressed for this, but I like it.

Eva Green looking great in an Elie Saab gown.

Amanda Peet is also wearing an Alexander McQueen gown – looks similar to Rooney Mara, no?  I like both.

Felicity Huffman looks like she is going to prom. Uck! -Worst dressed Nominee-

Julia Louis Dreyfus in Lanvin.  Looking good.

Jada Pinkett-Smith has a smoking hot body, but chooses this?  It’s not good.  -Worst Dressed Nominee-

Also Smoking hot is Juliane Moore in Tom Ford.  That color though!

Jane Fonda wearing a clam an embellished white column dress.  There are many things wrong with this – from the clam, to the length, to the shoes. -Worst Dressed Nominee-

Winner Maura Tierny (for The Affair) also wore Elizabeth Kennedy (like Laverne Cox did, and I can see the similarities)

Regina King is wearing something made by Krikor Jabotian, and this is a total miss from the cape, to the hair, to the shoes. -Worst Dressed Nominee-

Supergirl Melissa Benoist wore a floral Monique Lhullier.

Katy Perry in Prada and a terrible wig is the worst dressed.  This screams trashy.

Malin Akerman is wearing Reem Acra.

Emilia Clarke, our Khaleesi, dressed in a very Game of Thrones Valentino caped gown.  A little bit matronly, but it’s still good on her.

Winner Rachel Bloom wore an emerald Christian Siriano gown.

America Ferrera wore a yellow Jenny Packham gown that was just OK.

To wrap-up: Best Dressed was Kirsten Dunst. Worst Dressed was Katy Perry.  Bring on the Oscars!
