First Look: Sophia Tolli 2018 Collection

Never to skimp on details, Sophia Tolli’s 2018 Collection is full of tiny interesting surprises for the classic bride.  Be one of the first to see the newest crop of wedding dresses from this awesome Aussie designer.

I’m admittedly a fan of Sophia Tolli.  After all, I wore a Sophia Tolli for my wedding day. These dresses cannot be classified as simplistic or “plain” since each dress has a little something special on it – whether that is lace detail, beading, or rouging. This collection debuted at the Chicago Bridal Market in March, and I was there to get all of the looks for you…

Some of the highlights are dresses that have special touches in design, beadwork, and silhouette.

This gown, Saturn, has a great shape, and that bottom is interesting – as it looks a bit like a petticoat, but clearly it was beautifully incorporated into the bodice.  I’m getting Madonna- Like A Virgin vibes from this look!

Another gown with an interesting organza bottom/train is Aquila. The look is floaty and soft, and would look great for an outdoor wedding.

So, we know that 90’s style is in style (again), but this is definitely a 90’s throwback silhouette, with the fitted bodice and spaghetti straps.  Someone on Friends would have totally worn this! But all of that aside, I must say that this dress, called Jupiter, is still really pretty…

Corona is also a trending style gown with the ‘cold-shoulder’ sleeves and neckline. The photo doesn’t really give you the shimmery hand-beading that I could see in-person.

Another favorite of mine is this greek goddess-inspired dress call Aries.  It’s got that pretty draping, chiffon, beading, and embroidery.

Earlier, we had a 90’s throwback silhouette, and this one I think is another 80’s throwback silhouette – not a bad thing!  This is, Mercury– kind of a classic style, with a little bit of an 80’s lace vibe.

This next dress, called Nova, is different from the others above in that it’s got a silky feel to it.  But the details down the back and the train is the showstopper…

And, Mars – this is my favorite of all!  This is the only time Sophia went with a little bit of color. But not a blush or a cream – GOLD!  Shimmering gold! Check it out…
