What should a Bride wear to her rehearsal dinner? Since this was a top-searched question in 2015 (according to Google), let’s discuss.
The answer to this question relies heavily on the location, venue, and season of the rehearsal dinner. If the weather will be cooler, or during the winter months obviously everyone will want to cover up a bit more.If the wedding and rehearsal dinner are a warm-weather destination, (beach wedding), then the attire should represent the ‘resort’ style. Think sundresses, jumpsuits, easy breezy. I believe the words “resort chic” come into play in this situation. Check out Sofia Vergara’s Rehearsal dinner dress below at a Miami-Area Resort…
Resort/ Beach Wedding Rehearsal
Keep in mind, the dress, or outfit, does not have to be all white. Go with whatever color you like. I found some inspiration ideas below for beach/ destination rehearsal dinner.
Warm Weather, Summer Wedding Rehearsal
A summertime casual rehearsal dinner is a slightly different scenario. A casual summer dress would be a good choice. My rehearsal dinner was a backyard affair, in the late summer/ autumn in Michigan. It was still fairly warm out, and the weather was perfect. For this type of rehearsal dinner, I wore a Nine West navy fit and flare cocktail dress with wedge sandals. The dress was a TJMaxx find, so it is not available anymore. Here are a few similar options.
Cool Weather/Winter Wedding Rehearsal
A winter, indoors rehearsal dinner will require a little more covering up, unless you are in a very warm climate. A dress that you can wear with tights is a good choice, or, think out of the box and dress up a jumpsuit.
If you have to conduct the actual ‘rehearsal’ aspect of the rehearsal dinner, take this into consideration: You need something that will allow you to move around easily in. And, think about shoes that won’t hurt to walk in. There’s no need to destroy your feet the night before the wedding. You’ve got enough to deal with!
Choose something that is weather and venue-appropriate, but also lets everyone know that you are the Bride and this is your party. Have fun dress shopping!Follow
