Critics Choice Awards… (Blue) Carpet Dresses Megapost

Despite the fact that the Critic’s Choice Awards were broadcast on  A & E , and not a major network, they still drew quite a bit of A-List stars.  The awards were a combo of movie and television, and awarded some actors/actresses and movies/TV that the Golden Globes did not.  Let’s look at dresses…

Bryce Dallas Howard, in a Balmain gown that she again purchased herself online.

Tracee Ellis Ross, who is generating controversy for her (pretty awesome) low-key jab at the white-washing at the Oscar nominees.

Krysten Ritter looked amazing in a deep burgundy Zuhair Couture gown.

With an exciting pop of color that no one else was wearing, Gina Rodriguez chose a coral SAFiYAA gown.

Marisa Tomei is busy in a bright Zuhair Muad cocktail dress.  I don’t mind this because I like the print, but others are not so keen in her look.

Helen Mirren looking fab in a Dolce & Gabbana gown.

Queen A-Schu in a simple white Calvin Klein dress.  No jewelry, just a white clutch.

My girl Rachel McAdams SLAYS in a burgundy Elie Saab gown.  *Best Dressed*

Jennifer Aniston graced us all with her presence – in support of Justin Theroux – in a lame Saint Laurent gown with a puckering seam right up the center.  How disappointing! Dislike.  -Worst Dressed Nominee-

In the same blue as Jennifer Aniston, we see Saoirse Ronan in an awesome look by Antonio Berardi.  See how it’s done Jennifer?!

Portia Doubleday (who?  I had to look it up too, but she’s from Mr. Robot) slaying in a Novis dress, and a fishtail braid-crown.

Get it Regina!  Rocking a crop top on the red blue carpet!  I approve.  This is so fun.

A winner tonight, Kirsten Dunst chose a ruffly Chanel dress.  It’s an awkward length, and I don’t like the shoes, but when she walked, the dress fluttered and sparkled.

Another winner, Alicia Vikander, wearing a phenomenal Mary Katrantzou beaded gown.  *Best Dressed Nominee*

Rachel Bloom was also a winner tonight, but her look is such a miss.  This ill-fitted Alexander McQueen jumpsuit is wrong on many levels. -Worst Dressed Nominee-

Leslie Mann in a cute Monique Lhullier dress that could do without those shoes.

Also in Monique Lhullier, Kate Beckinsale, who was a presenter.

Winner Constance Zimmer (from UNReal) in a Tracey Reese dress.

Melissa McCarthy is not on vacation, but attending a Hollywood awards show for her JOB.  This is another one of Melissa’s own creations, but is so much a mistake.  Bad color, bad fit, just… bad.  Worst dressed.

Eden Sher (from The Middle) in a very beautiful Ruben Singer Gown.

There’s a lot to look forward to at the Oscars!
