We’ve all been to weddings that have a lot of tiny humans in attendance.  Typically kids do ok at weddings (depending on age) and tend to really enjoy the company and the dance floor. In fact, I remember when I was young, that weddings were just the best party ever because I got to dance.

I attended the North American International Auto Show this past month for the first time since Cobo Hall was renovated, and I took some photos to share. Part of the facility was blocked off, but I was able to wander around a little bit. I got into one of the ballrooms and get pictures of the space.

Last week, the Detroit Free Press listed what they call “Top Michigan Destination Wedding Spots“, that include many northern lower Michigan attractions.  Of course, we do not know what their criteria were to choose these locations (or, if the venues paid to be featured) but it does serve as a nice collection of venue ideas if you are looking for an ‘up-north’ wedding.  There are also a few west-side of the state locations listed, but that may or may not be a destination wedding for you.

After I got engaged, my fiance and I were looking for a Detroit wedding ceremony venue that didn’t have a religious connection.  Somehow (I don’t remember how exactly) I came across the Anna Scripts Whitcomb Conservatory on Belle Isle.  My 2 best friends (and future bridesmaids) scoped it out with me.
