2016 MET Gala Red Carpet Arrivals – Part 2

There was just so much to show you all from the red carpet, that I couldn’t possibly put it all in one article, and I’d rather not keep you scrolling endlessly.  So much #Dressporn! Please enjoy part 2 of the red carpet arrivals – the MET Gala kept me up most of the night because there was a lot of fashion happening… the good, bad, and interesting.

2016 MET Gala Red Carpet Arrivals photos and fashion

The 2016 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s annual benefit was held last night to raise funds for the museum’s Fashion/ Costume Department.  Often called “The Oscars of the East”, tickets to the benefit are extremely hard to come by, and Anna Wintour, who chairs the event yearly, decides who is worthy of that golden ticket (and also who sits at which table for the dinner.)  Guests are encouraged to dress to impress, often wearing ensembles considered “too risky” for other red carpets – which provides the best red carpet show for the rest of us.  Each year, there is a themed exhibit for the guests to browse, but they are also encouraged to dress according to that theme.  This year’s theme was Manus x Manchina: Fashion in the Age of Technology, which, in turn, produced a very heavy sci-fi and metallic vibe throughout the red carpet fashions during the night.  Part One is here – you want to view it first! Scroll on to check out Part 2…

Emma Watson Killing it in a pants/dress combo from Calvin Klein.

There is so much bad here that I don’t know where to start.  It literally hurts my eyeballs.  Irina Shayk in a really bad Gucci dress. Blech. The shoes are as bad as the dress.

This could double as a bridal gown: Jennifer Hudson in H & M.

Diane Von Furstenberg may be wearing one of her own designs – I’m not sure.  But she’s rocking some crazy afro butterfly vibes for sure.  Go for it Diane!

Lily-Rose Depp was likely invited by Anna Wintour because she thinks Lily might be the next big thing.  I think she still looks super young and has a long way to go yet.  She is wearing Chanel.

The mother of dragons Kris Jenner is wearing Balmain, and likely some new face injections.

Model Hannah Davis in Zuhair Murad with her Fiance Derek Jeter.

Amber Heard’s Ralph Lauren ensemble is a fail… next…

Another in white is Mindy Kaling, wearing Tory Burch

Brie Larson, wearing a chic Proenza Schuler gown, and the trend of the night: dark red lips.

It’s no secret around here that she’s my girl, and she did it again – wearing Valentino.  I particularly love how she is styled and hair/ makeup.

Amy Schumer looks smoking hot! And that Alexander Wang dress is exquisite!

*sigh* I just can’t. I want to like it, but I can’t.  I like Madonna’s hair and boots.  Ok, I found something to like. She is wearing Givenchy….

And there was the back view… the way is comes up under the cheeks…No.

This!  Jennifer Connelly did it right in Louis Vuitton! Love!

When it comes to Katy Perry, sometimes its a good thing if we can’t even recognize her! Well done.  She is wearing Prada.

Karolina Kurkova wore a Marchesa gown in collaboration with IBM.  The lights on it were supposed to be controlled by people on social media or something.  I didn’t really understand, and I could barely see the lights on it.

Katie Holes looks alright in this Zac Posen gown.

All bow down! Queen Bey rocked my world with Lemonade last week – to the point where I just had to stop because it was too much. This is a little bit of a different look for her on the red carpet, and that’s good.  This latex dress is a Givenchy.

Kayne West and his wife went for the theme, which is always interesting.  They are both in Balmain.

This is a beautiful blue Prada gown on Jessica Chastain. It doesn’t fit the theme at all, but I guess it doesn’t have to.

Allison Williams killed it in this gorgeous Peter Pillotto gown.

Taking on a quadruple bun, is Lupita Nyong’o in a stunning Calvin Klein dress.  The color is really great – I don’t think this photo portrays it accurately.  On TV it looked more lime green.

FKA Twigs is always good for a Met Gala red carpet, and she delivered again.  She looks like a Greek goddess in this Versace dress.

Margot Robbie is another that went for ‘Bridal Chic’, but I’m not sure it worked out for her.

Blake Lively is pregnant and looks slightly uncomfortable in this Burberry gown.

Zayne Malik and Gigi Haddid absolutely nailed the theme. Zayne is in Versace, and Gigi is in Tommy Hilfiger.

Kristin Stewart was shown almost last on the E! broadcast and she knocked my socks off!  She might be my best dressed in this Chanel dress.  The hair and makeup are killer.  Perfect!

Alexa Chung in a very fashion forward Thakoon jumpsuit.

Emma Stone is wearing Prada. The embellishments are good- on theme, even though they come across a little bit ‘Gladiator’

Bella Haddid and The Weeknd wearing Givenchy.

Lala Anthony’s poor boobs! This Nicholas Jebron dress looks painful.

It is customary for Solange Knowles to chose a work of art to wear to the Met Gala.  This year she is wearing David LaPort

Naomi Campbell in a beautiful Roberto Cavalli dress.

Dakota Fanning in Nina Ricci

Sienna Miller looks cute in this Louis Vuitton gown, but it is a little ‘safe’ for her.

Chloe Sevigny is wearing Marc Jacobs, but I think her hair is the star here.

Michelle Monaghan is wearing a relatively new designer: Rossie Assoulin.

Nikki Minaj is wearing a Moschino dress that I really like.

Florence Welch in Gucci

This is not a good look for Nina Dobrev.  I just don’t like the whole thing, but especially the hair.  The Marchesa gown is not that great either.

Emma Roberts is in a Tory Burch gown that is alright, but her hair and makeup is great.

Lorde is wearing a lovely Valentino dress, but I wish someone would have styled her.

Zendaya won again with this futuristic look from Michal Kors.  Perfect!

Not a winner was Zoe Kravitz in Valentino.  I just don’t understand how this fits the theme.  I love a good headdress, but this is not one.

Love Miranda Kerr in this Valentino.  Great Job!

More metallic: Naomi Watts in Burberry.

Freida Pinto in Tory Burch

Claire Danes looks like she is just in a big ol’ Cinderella gown, but there’s more to this Zac Posen than you think…

Look at what it did inside of the Gala! I think Zac’s Dress won at the theme!

So, I know there is a lot to take in, but, who are your best and worst dressed?? Please share in the comments below!
