13 Bridal Chic Moments from New York Fashion Week

The Fall/Winter Collections presented at NYFW were noticeably darker and heavier this time around, but a handful of designers kept things light and beautiful, creating some perfect wedding dresses.

13 bridal chic moments from NYFW

This season’s New York Fashion Week was rich with the feelings of an unstable political and emotional climate, juxtaposed with a fresh sense of progress.  With all of this moodiness floating around, it’s no wonder that the fashion translated that state of mind through heavy fabrics, dark colors, and thick textures.  Still, a handful of designers kept with light, feminine, and delicate aspects of traditional bridal chic alive.

Here are 13  bridal chic moments from NYFW…

#1. This pale, blushy floral beauty from Marchesa. That train is what really makes the dress.

#2. This floaty gown from Bibhu Mohapatra is a dream!  She looks like she’s hovering down that runway – rather than walking.

#3. Ok so it’s not a traditional dress for a bride, but these Ralph Lauren separates are chic AF.

#4. This is the fiercest dress of this bunch.  Brandon Maxwell’s designs are typically contemporary, but that hemline is killer!

#5. Dennis Basso is awesome at making wedding dresses, so it’s no surprise that he slipped a very traditional dress into his NYFW RTW collection.

#6. For the more casual wedding, this Alice + Olivia jumpsuit is everything.  Or, think beach wedding or vow renewal!

#7. This tulle dream from Carolina Herrera is really beautiful.  I would wear that gown in a heartbeat.

#8. So classic Jenny Packham… blinged-out beauty over shear fabric!  Jenny is great with the little details that make her gowns stand out.

#9. More Jenny Packham.  Homegirl knows how to design formal dresses. This one is more delicate and sweet.  I love the way that the pattern up top kind of just fades away at the bottom.

#10. Yes to feathers!  This Jonathan Simkhai dress kicks it up a notch or 4 with beading, sheer fabric AND feathers.

#11. I chose this gown because we often see wedding gowns with hints of gold, peach, and cream, but rarely silver.  This Pamella Roland has white, silver, AND feathers.  It’s really exquisite.

#12. This Oday Shakar dress is so feminine and cool. It’s just really gorgeous and the perfect bohemian-style wedding dress.

#13. Alright chickees… who would do this ‘naked’ dress?  Yep this Micheal Costello dress shows a lot of skin, but it’s really freaking fabulous. Ugh just so gorgeous it hurts!
